Six months ago, we promised the British people that we would introduce a better immigration system.

One that’s stronger.

Firmer.

Fairer.

Our new Immigration Bill delivers on that promise.

I look forward to meeting with my fellow leaders to discuss these issues as we all act to fight and defeat Covid and revive the global economy from its devastating impact.

As the most prominent grouping of democratic countries, the G7 has long been the catalyst for decisive international action to tackle the greatest challenges we face.

June's G7 Summit in Cornwall will mark the first face to face meeting of world leaders in almost two years and offers us a unique opportunity to agree concrete action to improve global health, tackle climate change and make the world fairer and more prosperous.

BORDERS BILL SURVEY

Boris Johnson
Prime Minister

YES

During the 2019 General Election, we promised to control our borders and keep the British people safe.

That's why in Wednesday’s Budget and Spending Review, Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a £703 million plan to protect UK borders and tackle illegal immigration. That includes a  £74 million to upgrade the existing fleet Border Force patrol vessels with 11 cutting-edge vessels.

That means Britain's Border Force is much more able to tackle serious and organised crime, the smuggling of illicit goods and illegal migration. We are keeping the United Kingdom safe and delivering on our promise to put a stop to dangerous channel crossings, and crack down on criminal gangs that exploit vulnerable migrants.

Families and businesses are struggling with global cost of living pressures.

Labour’s response? To back the biggest rail strikes in Britain since 1989.

Labour politicians are funded by the unions who have called the strikes, and dozens of Keir Starmer’s own colleagues back Labour’s summer of chaos.

That is why the Conservatives are standing up for rail users and are on the side of the travelling public.
