Why we need a full independent inquiry:

Reports on child sexual exploitation (CSE) in other parts of the country have identified failures within the bodies responsible for preventing CSE. An independent inquiry would allow for a robust assessment of these institutions.
An inquiry across all responsible bodies will allow the investigation to “join the dots” between failures across bodies and recommend more effective solutions to cut future incidents.
No full, independent inquiry has ever been carried out in the Bradford District. This leaves worrying questions surrounding the true scale of CSE within the district.
It is important this inquiry is carried out to re-instil trust in victims, their families, and wider society, back into the organisations which have failed them.

I, the undersigned, support the petition to be presented to Bradford Council and our West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin, who is responsible for setting our Police and Crime Plan, to urge them to instigate a full and independent inquiry into child sexual exploitation within the Bradford District. A full, independent inquiry is required to restore trust in public institutions, as well as help determine the true scale of this horrific issue within the Bradford District.

Robbie Moore MP for Keighley and Ilkley is calling for a full independent inquiry:

❝A full independent inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation within the Bradford District is the only way to properly understand the full extent of this abhorrent crime across our area and develop a clear strategy to tackle this issue once and for all.

❝Victims deserve justice and transparency, but unfortunately our local leaders are unconvinced by the need for this urgent investigation. I am therefore encouraging people across the Bradford District to sign this petition and to hold these organisations to account, because cliches such as “lessons will be learnt” are quite simply not good enough.

❝If we can show local leaders our strength of feeling on this issue, I hope they will see the urgent need for a ‘Rotherham-style’ inquiry into child sexual exploitation, and that people from all sides of the political divide can help tackle this disgusting crime for good.❞
