Dear Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
Local people deserve to know they are safe in their homes and streets. But right now, too many Londoners face rising crime on their doorsteps. And there’s a reason for that.
Instead of protecting local police stations, you’ve closed 38 – including Notting Hill – and now you’re planning to sell the station for good. Instead of giving the police the resources they need, you’ve spent £250m expanding ULEZ.
Safer streets aren’t a luxury – they’re a necessity. To keep residents safe, we need to maintain a physical police presence in Notting Hill. That’s why I am urging you to reverse your plans to sell our police station.
You have been playing politics with our police stations for too long – and residents deserve answers.
The local community does not want you to sell Notting Hill Police Station but, if you do, I will work with the council to buy it back for community and police use. That way we can continue to crack down on crime in Kensington with or without your support.

Sadiq Khan has been playing politics with Notting Hill Police Station. He closed it to the public in 2017 – and in 6 years still hasn’t made his mind up on it.
Government has brought in a new law which allows Sadiq Khan to take community social value into account when selling disused police stations. That means he doesn't have to sell it to the highest bidder which could make it easier for Kensington and Chelsea Council to buy it.
We’ve made our position clear. If Sadiq Khan tries to sell it, then Kensington & Chelsea Conservative Council will bid for it – keeping it for community and police use.
